Ekisa in Uganda
About Us
The story of Ekisa starts with two young women called Emily, one from the USA and one from Milton, near Cambridge, UK. In February 2011 they opened an orphanage for children with special needs in Jinja, a town on the shores of Lake Victoria in South-eastern Uganda.

They called it "Ekisa", which in Lugandan means "Grace".

The work quickly expanded and now, as well as providing a safe and loving home for children with special needs, Ekisa has a community care team helping families care for special needs children in their own homes.

Ekisa UK was formed in 2016 to help support the work of Ekisa in Uganda.
