Ekisa UK was established as a registered charity in 2016 to raise funds in the UK, to support the work of Ekisa Ministries in Uganda.

Ekisa Ministries was founded in 2010 by two women, both named Emily. It was after a number of volunteer trips to Uganda that they chose to start an organization to address the lack of care and services for children living with disabilities. The charity is a registered non-profit in the USA and is a registered NGO in Uganda.
